Work Permits

International Experience Canada (IEC)

work permit :- International Experience Canada (IEC)

International Experience Canada (IEC) is a program that allows young people from certain countries to work and travel in Canada for up to two years. The program is designed to provide an opportunity for international youth to gain valuable work experience while experiencing Canadian culture.

To apply for an IEC work permit, you must be a citizen of one of the countries that have a reciprocal agreement with Canada. These agreements allow young people to work and travel in each other’s countries.

The process to apply for an IEC work permit is as follows:

  1. Determine your eligibility: You must meet the eligibility requirements for the IEC program, including age, nationality, and language proficiency.

  2. Create an online profile: You will need to create an online profile on the IEC website and provide information about your personal background, education, and work experience.

  3. Enter the IEC pool: Once you have created your profile, you will be entered into the IEC pool of candidates. Your profile will be ranked based on a points system, and candidates with the highest scores will be invited to apply for a work permit.

  4. Receive an invitation to apply: If you are invited to apply, you will receive an invitation to apply for a work permit. You will have 10 days to accept the invitation and submit your application.

  5. Submit your application: You will need to submit your application online and provide supporting documents, such as a police certificate and a medical exam.

  6. Wait for a decision: The processing time for an IEC work permit can vary depending on the country of origin and the volume of applications being processed. You can check the status of your application online.

Once your IEC work permit is approved, you can travel to Canada and work for any employer in any industry. It’s important to note that an IEC work permit is temporary and you will need to apply for another work permit or permanent residency if you wish to stay in Canada longer.
